Having been involved with the prime contractor in the transition years ago in Angola of the private sector taking control of the oil and mining business security, if Afghanistan wants to keep itself from becoming a Chinese province, who ever is in charge will be smart to keep the contractors. Too much money is going to be made there in the mining business to indicate otherwise. Karzai is corrupt, but he is not stupid.

That's been happening for some time now.

The same.

I cannot speak for any company specifically, but contract ISR projects are being sent home at a fairly rapid rate.

Is The pilot position with L3 a single pilot job or do you start out as FO? Thanks.

Almost no ISR is single pilot, even the single engine stuff in Pilatus or 208s.

Most of the companies doing it now train you right through to PIC. That could change in the future as the market and area of operations evolve.

I know people flying (or having flown for) both the ISR King Airs deployed and the DoD support stateside in the Lears and neither were single pilot operations.
