Can anyone confirm discussions from last week about paying Captains $110,000 to stop the bleeding as pilots continue to leave?

With those wages, WU/Gama sounds like a stepping stone to a better gig elsewhere. Why not fly a CR7/9 for PSA out of CLT for the same amount or more and have a shot at flying for a much better paying legacy? No doubt flying the B350 would be great training and good fun for awhile. Although I haven't flown the XL/XLS, many of the Netjets pilots I talk to who fly it are anxious to leave it.

Guess we don't need any more Excels. Looks like we are all stuck in the King Air...

Wheels Up Partners with Talon Air on NY-Florida Shuttle

Membership-based Private Aviation Company Wheels Up is partnering with Talon Air to launch scheduled per-seat shuttle service in Talon’s super-midsize Hawker 4000s from Westchester County Airport (HPN) in White Plains, New York, to Florida’s Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE). The service, which is exclusively for Wheels Up members, begins tomorrow and costs $2,100 per seat one-way, including taxes, according to company founding partner Justin Firestone.

Flights will leave HPN at 4 p.m. on Fridays and return at 6 p.m. on Sundays, with the exception of this holiday weekend, when the flights will return on Monday at 6 p.m. Firestone said that the shuttle service will run through March 5, but could be extended past this date depending on usage.

“This is currently the only shuttle we are running with Talon Air,” he told AIN. However, it already runs several shuttle flights in the Northeast and central California using its fleet of Beechcraft King Air 350is that are operated by Gama Aviation. In fact, Firestone said, it will be adding King Air shuttles from New York and Boston to Nantucket and Hyannis this summer, as well as other to-be-announced destinations.

What discussions last week? First I've heard of it.

Talon Air?!!! Hmmmm, I haven't seen anything positive about that operation ever.

Another pilot at WUP texted me last week with that morsel. Don't know where he heard it or from who. Just thought I would put out a general query to check on the reliability of it. Also talked to a lady today that used to fly at WUP and she has nothing good to say about it. She left and is now flying jets ar another operation.

Default Captain Tim Martins

Talon Air,

Does that mean that your passengers will be under the command of F16 ANG pilot and ALPA poster boy Tim Martins?

Oh dear. I remember that inspirational article in my ALPA magazine. Wasn't he a volunteer firefighter too? I thought a prerequisite for the ATP certificate was the holder must be of good moral character.

How embarrassing.

Operational concern... not huge but worthy of reply.
...the good news is the new Northeastern Pilot Supervisor is engaging on Yammer. He has been immediately responsive to a few issues in just the last 48 hours. This is just beginning to unfold for the better.

The Northeastern pilot supervisor works for who? Gama? Can he rid the place of the three stooges?

Also, someone posted no more XL'S. Are they going into a bigger aircraft? Sovereign?

Pure speculation about WheelsUp not getting any more Excels.

They will be getting bigger jets, Talon's five Hawker 4000's. Just not to be flown by anyone at Gama.
