I need some specific info if anyone can help:
I've got a tentative start date of July 31st, when does that put me finishing sims (more accurately on break going in to IOE)? I can't remember the exact timeline from the presentation at the interview. Total training time of 12.5 weeks was mentioned, but I think that included IOE.
I need to work in my two week military duty and would like to know if doing it between sims and IOE is a possibility. Would a 2 - 2.5 week break during that phase of training be a bad idea? I hear that there is already a 5+ day break between, usually.
Thanks in advance!

And the break you get is between the oral in CLT and sims in CLT. Anywhere between 3-6 days depending on how the sims are running.

First off, I left PSA due to a family emergency and did not go back as I need to be closer to home. I did not fail out.
I did have some instructors who were good and some who were terrible.
I asked the senior 2 instructors and both said that they lose "about 30%" in Sims. This seems very high to me.
I have kept in touch with many of my class mates and I know of 3 that made it. They all had prior CRJ time.
I also heard from 8 that busted out of simulator training.
Some were coming from the CFI world but others had very recent 135 or 121 time.
If you do make it, PSA had some good (for a regional) work/schedule rules. The hiring bonus, yearly retention bonus and the flow are great as well.
Just be aware that, and the folks in my class spent many an hour in the lobby/conference room of the Best Western, yet still many of them got busted out of training!
Like I said before, best of luck to everyone with whichever carrier you choose.

Yeah. They recently got re-branded as the Red Lion. Same hotel, same services, just a different name now. I know also that there is a class at the Extended Stay America. Seems like they're using them on a rotation basis and you get whichever has space at the time.

They made some nice upgrades with the name/brand change as well. All new mattresses and new TV's. It isn't the best hotel, but it is a great location with everything that you could want within easy walking distance.
