And I’d guess that with no uniform standards for providing proof of vaccination international travel will be difficult until nations work out some sort of system. And not to mention the incredibly rough start the rollout of the vaccine has been. AA isn’t going to be buying planes from anywhere anytime soon. Why assume more debt when you could have SkyWest or Republic assume that risk while still providing service.

according to the class dates that were sent out, there were plenty of people that accepted the recall. I was actually surprised how many accepted. Now how many have since resigned when it came time for class is another. By now only 1/3 of the available classes have begun though, so I don’t think the hiring announcement is directly a result of a disappointing number of recalls. I personally think the company has some news unannounced
