I’d expect a filing by May/June if Spring Break and summer bookings aren’t looking strong. And I’d guess that with no uniform standards for providing proof of vaccination international travel will be difficult until nations work out some sort of system. And not to mention the incredibly rough start the rollout of the vaccine has been. AA isn’t going to be buying planes from anywhere anytime soon. Why assume more debt when you could have SkyWest or Republic assume that risk while still providing service.

all valid points. I’ve kinda resigned to the idea that they don’t know what they’re doing so how could we possibly know?

I agree there won’t be any purchases, but reshuffling in any direction I can see. Send ours to Mesa and OO, they could take Mesa planes come June. Who really knows... at this point I think they’re going off of future bookings and putting eggs in a very worn out basket.

The whole hiring rumor could just be a ruse to get pilots to accept the recall so you will not be short come summer.

Hiring notice was posted after the recall deadline.

So not enough takers I guess.

according to the class dates that were sent out, there were plenty of people that accepted the recall. I was actually surprised how many accepted. Now how many have since resigned when it came time for class is another. By now only 1/3 of the available classes have begun though, so I don’t think the hiring announcement is directly a result of a disappointing number of recalls. I personally think the company has some news unannounced

Well it's free money. I guess you could say if you resign prior to your class you'd burn a birdge, but I don't think a lot of people care about that right now anyway. Not that good of a bridge anyway.

I'm really hoping that we're going to find out something next week around the earnings call release on Thursday. AA is indeed hemorrhaging money so if they announced some more flying for the WOs (that can be done cheaper) maybe that'll (barely) soften the blow of bad news. Or maybe I'm just wrong.

I agree, it seems like there’s more to the story. You guys were heavily overstaffed with the early retirement of the -2s. Now all pilots are recalled and the company is bribing additional pilots on property?

The letter from dion and new logo has to mean unannounced news

Thats not a new logo, people just don’t look into anything. It’s the new “PSA Way” graphic that’s replacing the 6 circle one. Same color scheme, if you’d open the article on the portal and read it’d show you why they went with 3 horizontal lines and how it is encompassed by the AA paint scheme on the tail.

Well that’s better

still the purpose change is significant
