Your statements are basically saying who cares about work rules or pay I just want my job back. Thats kinda selfish and narrow minded. When you go back to work don't you want better pay and better QOL?

Could you be more specific on what the COMPANY has done for you. Personally I don't think the Company would do anything.

Someone needs to read Flying the Line Vol 1, specifically the crew complement chapter.

PSA is Pacific Southwest Airlines. A low cost carrier that was based in San Diego CA. They flew mostly 727's on the west coast.

Unless your talking about the PSA which stands for nothing. They are a whollyowned US Airways regional carrier that flies CRJ200/700 aircraft.

You learn something new everyday. For the longest time i thought when people were talking about TSA they meant the airport workers. Then I found out they mean't Tragic States Airlines.

I will elaberate on what I said about the management doing more for me than my union (and thats not saying much). PSA has assigned me and the rest of us furloughed a leiason (spelling), I have resieved two phone cals from her, I have got NOTHING from my MEC. It is not much, but atleast it was a show of consideration on the side of management. As far as me being selfish and not caring about work rules and whatever. Read my posts, I pointed out that at other airlines (Delta, and FedEx) you would get paid the same for similar a/c eventhough the 2 are very diffrent in payload or seating capabilities. Same can be said for the minor differences between the 700 and the 900.

I didn't know we had a company contact... of course I'm not sure what they'd tell us except we aren't getting our jobs back. While I disagree that 200/700/900 should be paid the same... I would agree long enough to get them on property and grieve it like pinnacle did.... A bird on the ramp is worth two on the order book ?

What do you want the union to do for you? You were employed by PSA, not ALPA. You were furloughed by PSA, not ALPA. You will hopefully be recalled by PSA, not ALPA.

ALPA can only tell you what the company tells them which is nothing. ALPA cannot influence mgt into calling you back. We have some reserves that haven't flown in two months. Until all reserves are flying over guarantee, you won't be called back.

Sorry if all this sounds harsh, but it is the brutal truth. I hope something changes and all you guys come back. Best of luck to you.

PSA was in the same boat last march and they were still hiring. I know guys that were on reserve last year this time who had to call in to get time. There were build up lines for LESS that guarantee. So the status of the reserves is not directly linked to recall or hiring. The point of a reserve pilot is to cover flying that becomes open due to sickness or other reasons not to have his own flying. However I do think that in PSA's current situation MGT will keep the guys on the street as long as possible to have a better place to negotiate the contract.

Here is why managment is at fault. Not ALPA.
They hired 70+ people to replace those that were taking jobs at mainline. Because PSA Management didn't have the forsight to train pilot earlier they held 70+ Captains at PSA and wouldn't let them go to mainline, till the new hires were hired and trained. When all that happened mainline didn't want those 70+ pilots and so they stayed at PSA. Now PSA had too many pilots so had to furlough the new hires.
It is good for the pilots that didn't get to go to mainline because they would be on the street today. So in a sense PSA managment in their evil doing saved peoples jobs.
What ended up being a financial disaster is that they ended up training 70+ pilots then furloughing them. Now they will have to retrain them when they come back. And because of the poor management at PSA we now have no movement and people like yourself on the street.
Oh of course T.K. knew all of this and he held the pilots at PSA because he knew they were going to get furloughed if they went to mainline. That's crap. PSA is reactive not proactive when it comes to staffing the airline. They don't know one week in advance of what is happening.
I am sorry you are on the street but it is managements bad doing that created this mess in the first place. If they did their jobs better you would have a job. Leave ALPA out of this.
