I believe that the new airplanes will follow the pilots. In the past, it has been the other way around. The market has started to turn, however. If a regional is actively attracting new pilots, the airplanes will go there (as long as costs are in line). If places like RAH and Envoy are having a hard time filling the airplanes that they already have, there is no way that AAG will send them more airplanes.
Any thoughts on this?

Mesa is pretty much, "You get what you see", and has a reputation of having an excellent pilot group to work with. And so far, for 2013 new hires, the promise of fast upgrades was no lie. I wouldn't be surprised to see some 2014 new hires on the next CA award.
Of course Mesa has the worst benefits of any regional, and we have to pay for KCM if we want it, and buy our own iPad... Pick your poison!

The course is currently scheduled at 8 sessions, instructors tell us that they anticipate most needing 10, and they'll take you out to 12 as necessary.

Does anyone know at what point in time does the 1500 hour minimum have to be met? I understand that 25 hours of sim can be used towards the 50 hours of multi, but do the minimums apply before starting IOE since I assume you have to have the type rating and the ATP ticket by then?

Ahhhh, no.
That might be true to CFI's, who never set in a 121 cockpit. For those of us who came from another company, and flew with ex Mesa pilots, the reputation of management is worst then RAH.
I've yet to hear about a bad pilot group.
No lie as oppose to who?? PSA already have 2014 new hires in the left seat, many of them...

When I was waiting to go in for the portion of my interview with HR/CP, they had us waiting in a room down the hall. As we were waiting people would meander on by and ask us what we were doing/welcome us/give us advice. 2 of the sim instructors for PSA walked in and spoke with us for a few minutes on their way out to lunch. I specifically asked them about the high washout rate for that particular class and they said that they don't even count the failure rate, just the overall attrition per class. Some guys had paperwork issues, some guys left for another regional during class, a couple guys got the calls from majors they had been waiting on, and yes a few did poorly in sims. So it's not like they failed a ton of pilots. That just isn't true. I'm in the January 5th class. We have a lot of guys from other 121 carriers, mil guys, 135 freight guys, and a handful of us 91/CFI types. Training has been very straight forward so far, they basically spoon-feed you everything you have to know and tell you when you need to know it by. Absolutely no surprises. They have growth plans well into 2016 and are currently filling March classes and hiring for April-June classes. Cancellation pay, deadhead pay, decent medical/dental. And what seems like a great pilot group. Everyone Ive met so far has been professional and helpful. Feel free to PM me if anyone thinking of coming here has any questions.
