Still a heck of a lot of time to have to wait to hold a line as a CA at CLT....but everyone is always talking about FO figures....I guess CA figures are completely different. So I am guessing once the FO moves to CA after that promised 18 month upgrades, he'll be looking at that amount of time on reserve if one wants to live in CLT?

I've embraced the suck. The schedulers recognize my voice (or caller ID). I've never held a line here. But can't complain. I live in base and had a short upgrade. Just wish I wouldn't have wasted 3 years at a previous airline and would've chose PSA initially.

You can't think of it that way or you'll drive yourself crazy. Wasn't reserve time and captain upgrades pretty long at PSA prior to all this new contract with planes and big hiring? Those 3 years at another airline might have hurt your prospects of being a really senior PSA captain though..

All things considered I'm happy to be at PSA. But the reserve here does suck. Luckily it's currently short for FOs.

Besides that a new person without 121 time will need over 18 months. Training takes 3-4 months with the waiting around. Then over a year to get 1000 hours. If you are on reserve you won't go over guarantee.
