Pick up the phone and call your rep right now. Let us know what is said. It's that simple.

This is where I loose you. You want to have a rational debate regarding facts fine. But at-least cujo is probably privy to something more than heresay. You are making wild and broad accusations presumably without any special inside info.

It's dated May 6
The first word on line 4 of paragraph one is: commitment
If they continue to deny it after that, you let me know.

Look, I don't think you want to get into a PSA-Envoy future prospects match. Mostly because, without personally knowing you, I have a hunch that this kind of populous propaganda is beneath you. Secondly, AAG has plans that are in place for both operators, let's not go ahead and jump to conclusions that "wheels are coming off of things". I actually agreed with the first part of your post regarding union communications to an extent, but it's time to practice what you preach - you can't talk about "standing together" than in the same breath belittle another wholly ownes career progression and general viability to further your cause or help the envoy recruiting effort or what not.
Honest question, Are Ay Why (@cujo), as a soon-to-be-displaced, junior captain in NYC, do you think you'll flow to AA in less than 2 years? (since new hires will be to AA in 6, 2 years is probably a reasonable timeline for you.)

I don't see Captain staffing as a major concern just yet. Evidentially there are 70+ qualified guys and gals choosing to bypass at the moment. That represents 4 or 5 upgrade classes.
Those are folks that are actually online as FOs, in my class alone (late Jan) there are 10 guys I can think of that have the 1000 SIC required and another 5 or so that have some time (mil, 135 or 121SIC) towards the 1000.
Admittedly we are still a couple of weeks away from starting FO IOE, but I don't believe our class was the exception in terms of having the folks with the requisite experience ready to go. I'm sure the classes ahead and behind all have a handful (or more) of qualified guys.
Every month that goes by, the FOs that are online get another 70-90 hours towards the requirement.
Personally, I have no problem whatsoever with junior folk upgrading ahead of me, I am not legally qualified to sit in the seat, but I am still senior to them. Effectively they are sitting captain reserve for me. Attrition is alive and well right now. Moved up 38 spots in two months.
