And on the other hand, everyone whines and bickers about the low pay and the working conditions - yet, some are happy to game the system, have almost 3 weeks off per month, and still get minimum pay and benefits.
This is another reason why management doesn't feel like they need to change anything in the current model, because on the other side of the spectrum, pilots take just as much advantage of the situation as well.

Let's just hope those 28 hour 4 days keep coming. If they want to solve a staffing issue then give us these efficient 4 days or higher credit 3 days, not the 7 hour credit 4 days I see in opentime. How are reserves under the consolidation period supposed to get their time when they are wasting their days with those kind of trips?
You can request a build up in lieu of
sitting reserve for that very reason .

There were no "pilots taking advantage", the pairings used to be much more efficient. When a lot of our pairings were close to or even over 7 1/2 hours of credit per day, working 11 or 12 days(with 19 or 20 days off) would still get you a line that paid more than 80 hours.

Half of the new pilots at PSA are from Endeavor. They tried that once. I don't think there is anyone outside of Endeavor that actually thinks you will receive that money. Sure, maybe a couple of payments, then it will stop, and you will be stuck in the right seat at a dying airline.
