Both sims in CLT are 700 capable (One is 200/700, the other 700/900). All 3 in CVG are 200 only.
You have to do IOE in both the 200 and 700, and there really is no set order since you finish differences before IOE. It is typically 200 first, but it can be 700. I just mean that if you spend 40 hours in the sim for initial, you might as well do it in the one that we have the most sims available. Putting 30 people through (2) 700 sims for 40 hours seems silly and likely to create an increased delay.

As of now, you spend 32-40 hours in initial, and 8 hours in differences. Why not do the initial in the one that we have more sims of?

Other than that, there is no real reason to start initial training in the 700's. It certainly isn't to speed up the sims, because we have many more 200 sims than 700 sims.
Sending 35 200s to Whisky and getting the remaining 16 options would be a net loss of 19 airframes compared to what the fleet plan is now.

That said, our pay would go up too, so there's that.

It'll also be interesting to see what effect that would have on TYS and DAY as bases. I know TYS doesn't see the larger airframes very often.

You are correct, and I don't think it will really happen. I was just hoping to start a good discussion.

I highly doubt AWAC would take on more RJ's. They have their hands full with the 71 they have now.

The classes are rotating 2 700 classes followed by 1 200 class. The back logs for IOE are based on the 200 sims being back logged.

They aren't doing every class as a 700/900 initial. Every third class will be a 200 class. The first 700/900 initial class started IPTs this week.

Don't start rumors that have absolutely zero evidence.

That is not true at all. The backlog is a lack of check airmen. It has nothing to do with 200 sims. After you finish sims, you sit and wait for 2+ months.

You have to do IOE on the aircraft that was initial. Differences OE on the aircraft you did differences on. Captain upgrades can do IOE on either with SLF on the other type.

Besides, the big backlog is IOE, not sims.
I belive we have 2 700/900 sims. Common sense imply that we will get more 700/900 sims. We need more just to keep up with PC's.

PSA officially have more 700/900 vs 200. It makes perfect sense to make that airplane the focus in training since that's what you'll see more of on the line.

Initial IOE requires a min. 25 hours. Differences requires a min 10 hours. Quote numbers you know and keep the rumors to yourself. Why don't you loft those air biscuits on PSA's Web board? Michael
