IMO,By then it should go down at least a month or even two if we continue to get more cka. Plus classes are now going to be 25 people I believe. That helps alleviate delay.

What were class sizes before? Are smaller classes a sign of hiring slowing down?

35 ish. And no, it's to help alleviate training backlog. This is what I've heard, which makes sense to do this. Hiring 50 a month is still a lot.
