The upgrade award was just posted this morning. Junior Captain awarded was a February 2014 hire.

They're telling guys that American will hire you as long as you haven't been terminated from a previous airline job. No specific time frame given though.

My class started with 24, had five wash out, 2 resign, and one terminated for lying on his application. The two resignations were for a better job and for personal reasons (i.e. wife). Of the 21 who attempted to complete training, 16 succeeded for a pass rate of 76%--Wash-out rate of 24%.

Of the washouts;

-One wasn't even close. He couldn't copy an IFR clearance or find the ground control frequency on a Jepp chart.

-Four struggled with the structure, profiles, call, procedures, etc. but were given a lot of extra training and help from the instructors.

I don't see how they'll be able to avoid it. They're clearly to the point now where guys are upgrading with less than 1000 hours with the company so only guys with previous 121 time will be qualified.

They didn't mention it. They might have said they are working on something better, or I read that on here not sure. They defiantly didn't promote it.
