I'm not a commuter so I really don't keep track of commutability. That said, for a long commute like that your best bet is the fastest way to R1. In January that's about a year and a half in CLT or TYS, and you do NOT want to do a transcon commute to reserve.

CVG and DAY are about 6 months, no idea what DCA will be, but it's proximity to IAD opens up some possibilities.

Who said anything about changing the SAP? Lighten up Frances. Some are giving check airman heat for flying right seat.

I would go to CVG if you are trying to avoid reserve... Delta has an LAX-CVG direct. Trips vary month to month on commutability but if you SAP with that purpose the commuter hotels should more than be enough.

So what if they are? You cant see why theyre getting heat? Helping the company staff for peanuts instead of letting them reap what they sow. No unity here Frances.

Some of you may recall that PSA had an unusually large upgrade class (30, as I seem to recall), scheduled for December of last year but they postponed that class until January because they didn't want to pull 30 first officer from the line over the holidays.

My point is that PSA being short on f.o.'s at the holidays is nothing new. Why is PSA management treating it like this year is an anomaly?

Be careful it says 225% block, not or better, or cancel, also of suggest that 4 hour min day for ccp wouldn't apply at 225%

The sap isn't going anywhere its contractual. Only way something changes with it is if the union bends over for the company. I think the sap is what keeps many 2-3 year guys from leaving for an LCC but the company isn't smart enough to see that.

No, I can't because I believe myself to be mature beyond a 5th grade level. You pay 1.9% of your hard earned income for representation that is failing you. That's where your anger needs to be directed. Your MEC chairman is going rogue with LOA's and you want to attack line pilots. This is, from the very beginning, a representation problem.

Im not condoning what the MEC is doing. But all these pilots picking up this work gives no leverage. Things will blow over this Christmas. They may or may not cancel vacations, whatever. Things would be different if we were unified not picking up this garbage open time. Passing up potential better opportunities for peanuts, I digress.

The leverage was gone the second our chairman put his name on that LOA. I think you and I can agree that this is not an ideal situation in the least, but this is what our union got us. To lay blame on those benefitting from this rushed LOA does nothing. What concerns me most is the lost trust in my union leader to represent me going forward. Talk to your seat rep, most of this was done without their input. That's where your disappointment should land.
