I hope so as well, but I don't have high hopes. The entire contract needs revised, but any improvements should include as an absolute minimum;
Across the board pay raises
4 hour minimum day with no carve outs
minimum day for reserves
150% sdo pay
175% critical pay (and the critical pay issues fixed obviously)
200% junior man pay (otherwise there is no incentive to nominate critical days)
Commuter/Cancellation hotels
This is just the tip of the iceberg and really only brings PSA up to what could now be considered industry standard, certainly not industry leading and probably not enough to entice people to commute to Dayton, Knoxville, or Cincinnati.

I can't fault the contract vote. It took PSA from 400 to 1200 pilots in a few years. The market has changed. We're big enough to cause AA to question shutting us down. I'm not saying they won't but it would cause some questions for their WO dream machine. Time to exercise some leverage before another economic turn or world crisis.

Granted AA is suffering from an image problem (****ty service, bitter employees, no profit sharing for their pilot group, messy messy mergers, slave driving regionals) and is having issues staffing them as a result, but Why would AA want to shut its WOs down? They generate $$$$. They're providing lift cheaper than doing it as mainline flying and with cheaper pilot groups than at their contract regionals...
Believe me, I'm all for getting to be expensive as we can. I would love it if the contract carriers got so expensive it incentivized the majors to take the flying back in house.

A 12 year regional Captain is making $25/hr less than a second year mainline f/o. Some say regional pilots supplement mainline pilots pay. It seems valid.
The money is there but we have a union that represents us and them. Huge conflict of interest.

Yes and yes. Exactly correct. Although you technically cannot be talking about American though as they are APA.
