Classy. Blame the pilot group for the company's unwillingness to pay a market wage until the airline had accelerated beyond V1.

Default Merry xmas

Stuff like this probably feels good for mgt. to send out, real consequences are when new-hires opt for elsewhere and the 1-3 year guys bag it for spirit, JB, and possibly Alegiant ( new contract?). Threatening vacations, SAP jacking, Jr manning are not a 'tool' at most carriers. I dont believe our leadership should ever be trusted with a PBS system.

I guess the issue is that there are a lot of flights (still) that need to be covered. I can't see them just cancelling dozens of them for lack of crew. They're trying to sweet talk or gently coerce pilots to cover them but not sure what the consequences will be if there's just more flights than pilots willing to work on the holiday? Is it a pay thing? ie, if they jack up the pay for these flights will the crews pick them up or are they going to have to get their bigger hammer out? Not too many pilots from the larger classes are online yet so this is a real mess right now from my perspective.

They have check airman flying as an FO for some of it.

Glad they volunteered...

its a product of being reactionary. Retention $ came too late. Lost a lot of good people along the way that would have stayed. Lost a lot of potential newhire a that would have been finished with training in Nov.

Agreed!...Do you see them raising FO and captain straight pay to try and keep guys from running off to places like allegiant and spirit?

if they had inacted the new hire bonus a few months earlier, we would not have this issue. The fact is that we are short FOs and the company is paying for it. I imagine the management is going to have to do a carpet dance because we are going to have a terrible performance rating over the holidays.

Normally, our performance rating is exceptional. But line holders that have the option to take the holidays off are doing so, and it is their right. No line holder should have to work a holiday since we have the SAP.
