Hey Dubz, were you around for the Dayton Airport Hotel? Man that place made the places we stay for training now look like a 4 star resort. No microwaves in the rooms, had to pay to have a fridge in your room, if there was one available. Nasty hotel restaurant that gave many people food poisoning. Those were the good old days.

While Envoy has their issues, they'll be around for a while. Yes, you'd have some amount of time on reserve in DFW, but reserve from your living room is pretty cake.

But you're also correct in saying you're a one leg commute from anywhere. You could easily get DAY or CVG at PSA and be in round 1 pretty quickly, then pick your schedule with the SAP.

It's still a commute though, and it will still cost you time away from home.

As I said, choose wisely.

And, if you need a referral at PSA or have any other questions, just let me know.

Thank you. Something to think about. SAP sounds like quite an option but I have heard living in base is the way to go.

Found out that I have a CLT base now and not out of sims yet. Looks like new hires got CLT right out of the gate.

How did CVG look?

I and am hoping for CVG with a second choice of DAY followed by CLT.

Thoughts on that plan?

That won't be a problem for you, both are junior bases...

I am on the upper end of the young group in my class and everyone except one person who was junior to me got based in DCA unless they put in for DAY. I would be prepared for the possibility of that. However the class ahead of us all of them got CLT if they wanted it when we got our initial base assignments. The last bid had 36 CLT FO slots available, pretty much guys from other bases and the entire Jan 3rd class got that. No one in the 1/16 class got CLT or TYS based.

By the time you're out of sims you'll get a base assignment. Then after that first month you should get to where you want to be. Probably after IOE and during IOE you're positive space and will be put in a hotel if needed. Good luck to all. Hope you all get the base you want within a couple months. DCA IOE should make you a salty veteran!
