In CTP class today they mentioned we would be at the Clarion for indoc on the 13. Do you know where that class will be staying?

The company is working on a new plan. The Clarion was not the greatest, but it was ok in the past. I guess the hotel was starting to go downhill so they pulled everyone out quickly and moved them elsewhere.

Expect a new hotel with a new contract very soon.

The Clarion was worse that anywhere that we stay while flying the line, and no one understood why we would put new hires in a hotel that wasn't better.

In 2014/2015, most pilots stayed at a different hotel that was much nicer than the clarion.

The folks handling the arraignments for us have been doing a fantastic job considering the number of new hires they are taking care of. We heard the Clairion wasn't 5 star accommodation but that is was in a good location. I was just curious if there were any rumors of the new billet.

The one that everyone is in now (I won't mention the name because some people get upset about security concerns) is ok, but is temporary.

The hotel booking company that we use and the company are working on getting a new contract quickly for 70 new hires, 24 upgrades, 40 FA's, and instructors that commute. So...about 120+ rooms per night.

When on a trip, do pilots have single occupancy hotel rooms or do you share a room with another crew member?

Everything at PSA is 100% single occupancy.

Some other companies have pilots share hotels in training.

What's helping them is that they split the upgrades off to another hotel. I think only the new hires, FA's, and some ground instructors were historically at the old hotel.

The Fairfield is terrible... better location, but the road noise is horrible and the rooms are at best equivalent if not worse. It's sad because across the street or down the road there are fantastic options. It is pitiful that on our home turf we can't do better.

PSA wins in many ways but hotels in Dayton isn't one of them -- at least in the recent past. I've stayed in 3... and none of them were desirable for various reasons. I hope that changes soon.

The Fairfield is ok, but there's a lot of great food options nearby, and a WalMart across the street.

There's also some great hotels across the street too.
