Hey guys,
Excited about starting training with PSA in a few weeks, wondering if there's anyone I could reach out to in regards to getting some early study material to help me prepare for class? That'd be insanely helpful - thanks in advance!

They'll send you an email soon. In that email you'll find attachments. Those attachments include a preflight walk around PowerPoint, flows, limitations, immediate action items and a couple of forms to fill out. Know the limitations like the back of your hand. Limitations is the first test you'll take in INDOC and IT IS NOT open book. Limitations and immediate action items are the big ones you'll need to know 110%. Everything else you'll have plenty of time to review and study. Best of luck!

Current mil guy (reserves) working for PSA right now. I can tell you for me personally, the SAP and base locations made the biggest difference for me in regards to deciding to come here over Envoy or Piedmont. Personally, the flow has zero bearing for me because I am just trying to rack up more TT to get competitive for UAL. Out of the legacies, AA would be my last choice. I heard so many negative things about Envoys schedules that deterred me from choosing them, and Being based out of PHL didn't really appeal to me with Piedmont. I do know some guys there and they are pretty happy. I'm choosing not to commute though, and will more than likely be a lineholder within 6 months in Cincinnati living in base. That was huge for me.
From what I've read of the contract, the work rules aren't bad at all here. They don't seem to be junior manning people like they are at Envoy.
If you need anything, feel free to PM me. It was a big decision for me a few months ago when I was in your shoes transitioning from active duty, so if I can answer questions, I'll be happy to help.
Cheers!

The differences are going to be bases, reserve times, schedule flexibility, flow, and equipment.
PSA has Crew bases CLT, DCA, TYS, CVG, DAY
PSA has SAP that allows line one holders to take their awarded line and change out and or drop down to 65 hours. It has allowed me To have off every single holiday in 2016 that i wanted, have off all important days I've needed, and have a commutable schedule.
FLOW has been argued in all threads. It is a very dead horse if you want to kick it some more you'll find lots of company. Reality is that for a 2.5 year senior FO it's not really anything worth worrying about for the next several years. This industry is changing very quickly.
PSA operates all CRJ 200,700,900
This is my second regional airline, Management types seem to be cut from the same block.
Cheers

I applied on airline apps.com and heard nothing after 10 days. I then applied on the company web site and heard back within a few hours.

Thanks, all. I appreciate it. Sounds like flow is where PSA falls short compared to the other two. But like StickPig, flow is very low on the priority list for me. SAP sounds like a big plus...but what's a ballpark avg time from finishing training to hold a line where you could use it? Thanks again.
I wouldn't put SAP into your equation when contemplating about PSA. It's days are numbered because it's so inefficient for the company (great QOL for pilots though) and our union is not holding a firm line on the issue.

But the pilots have the final say. No way it would get voted out.

Can someone that's been around the block a few times give some input on pros and cons of the various bases
DAY - I think I may like this because small town and low cost of living but mostly 200 lines?
CVG - Smaller big city but how are the lines?
TYS - No hot reserve but other than that don't care either way about Knoxville or Tennessee
CLT - Biggest base & best lines ? mostly 700 and 900 flying ?
Did not put DCA on the list because I do not want to go there if I can help it.
So any input on the other bases - pros and cons as you see them
I plan to move to whatever domicile I get. The order of importance for me - reserve time, low cost living, ease of getting to base and decent paying lines. Of course those ideals are based off of being a total Noobie McNoobster so that's where ya'll experienced opinions are appreciated
