Thanks for advice about choosing CVG . Can you explain why it is shorter reserve time... so I get a sense of how that works. Do you think that will be the same even with a lot of new FO hiring in coming year.

It's a shorter reserve time because it's not very commutable, hence people choose other bases. In your case, you'll have a three hour drive and are expected to make it to the gate 45 min prior to departure. Pretty much any departure after 10AM or so is pretty simple for you.

For someone else who doesn't live in an AA hub, they'd have to get to a hub, then on to CVG, so two legs, which would be a pain in the butt, not to mention the frustration of getting back home after you're done with a trip, in some cases the following day because your trip finished too late to get you back home.

But in your case, walk out to the parking lot and start driving; your ride home will never leave without you.

Much longer. As of the February awards the most junior person to hold a Round 1 line in CVG was just under 7 months on property. In TYS it was over a year to get a build up line (no flexibility like the R1, but you do have a line), and a year and 8 months to hold Round 1.

If you're proud to be at Psa I'm happy for you Gilmore. If you're proud to walk through the ghetto in clt known as the e gates, so be it lol.
Walk through there with your head high and shoulders back, let the world know you're proud of psa.
A lot of of things happened with this industry because of psa .
So by all means carry on.
Wow, never knew PSA had this kind of power. Sounds like you're hosed, dude.

What happened because of PSA? Seems to me there's never been a better time to be a regional pilot.

So I guess reserve is just a fact of life for quite a while, regardless of base, so need to look at what is most important : shorter reserve , QOL, etc . I suppose no right answer, just varies with individual. I do like the idea of not havig to commute since I would be close to either base
