I have been following this forum for a few weeks now and I decided to join in the discussion. I am considering applying to PSA in May. I have prior 121 experience, but I have been out of flying as a job for about the last seven years. Any advice for an old guy would be appreciated. My biggest worry is the simulator. The last time is was in the sim was new hire training in the Jetstream at Flight Safety in St. Louis. It made me sick the first day.
Great insight on PSA in this forum.

I don't know of any document on bidding and how to do it. If you have any specific questions or want me to give you a general write up, send me a private message and I'll type something up.

Not sure if you are already at the point where you are bidding, otherwise I would say ask your check airman on IOE, he/she would be glad to spend a while one night on flica going over it.

Yeah, just finished IOE, and didn't get a lot of input from the LCA's.
I'll PM you...

SAP is a thing of beauty, that is unmatched in any other regional.
It has allowed me, as a 1st year regional FO, to have any day off I want, including all weekends (except those I chose to work), Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Both kids birthdays, my wifes birthday, valentines day (took the wife on a nice date), and 2 separate weeks off that I needed because my wife was traveling for work and I needed to keep the kids. Now, im on par for 4 separate vacations of a week at a time and I havent used 1 single day of actual vacation yet. Its commonly referred to around the company as a "SAP-cation"
Now, its not without its issues, and there are some beefs with the company regarding the application of it, but still, it has been ENORMOUS for my QOL. I picked PSA, largely due to the SAP and it has paid off HUGE dividends..
