This has not been confirmed. Just rumors.

Hence the word planning, obviously subject to change. I've heard the same from people in the AA training dept. The big AA hiring numbers will start in a couple years (1000+ year like UAL and DAL).

"The plan" until they realize they'll gut their own feed and then they will go after every one else's pilots.

We need fixed now not pie in the sky dreams later.

Sounds like propaganda to me. Just AA trying to stop the hemorrhage of pilots from the WOs so they don't have to improve contracts.

Does anyone honestly believe AA will turn down all the military pilots, experienced JetBlue and Spirit pilots, or anyone else they really want in orde to make room for flows?

ALPA also said the company believes PSA is adequately staffed for the rest of the year. So that means no increase to the Flow numbers. PSA will upgrade just enough to keep up with the 5 flows and attrition.

Well if we have 1200 pilots we are almost staffed for the 115 aircraft we will have by August but hopefully you are correct and attrition outside of the flow increases. That info came from AA fyi not from PSA managemet or PSA ALPA.

I can't remember because of all the changes but weren't we originally supposed to have 150 aircraft at the end of this year or middle of 2017? Staffing isn't a problem when you keep moving the target.

Yes I agree, right now, today, we are adequately staffed, whoever if attrition continues to outpace recruitment we won't be.

I understand AA said that, I'm saying I think its propaganda from AA. AA knows that if the WOs have to improve their contracts then it will cost AA more money. So they are doing what the always do when they need to recruit and retain people. The are delivering empty promises and half truths, instead of actual tangible improvements.

This is just another carrot on a stick.

Also for any prospective low - no 121 time guys considering PSA for a quick upgrade or flow take a look at the numbers.

PSA has 1200 pilots, we have upgraded 4 so far in 2016. At this rate that means approximately 50 upgrades in 2016. There are approximately 600 FOs on property, even if by some miracle they start upgrading 100 a year, that is still 5+ years to upgrade.

1200 pilots, PSA flows 5 per month, that number will not increase in 2016 since we are "adequately staffed" Flow is 10+ years away, IF it even exist in 10 years.

Yes PSA did double in size over a short period of time and the quick upgrade did exist for a while, but that time is over. At this time PSA is losing more pilots per month that they can get hired and they are deferring aircraft deliveries. The growth has all but stopped and all PSA and AA have managed/cared to do about it is throw out some empty promise.

Find a regional that has the easiest commute because there is nothing here at PSA worth commuting for.

How many of those 1200 pilots are "active"? There are a lot that are ground and sim instructors that do not fly the line, management, or out on mil/fmla/med leave.

There are quite a few people that do not have medicals on that list.
