I think you're underestimating the retirement wave that's coming.

Off the top of my head, out of 35-40,000 pilots at the 3 legacy carriers almost 30,000 of them retire in the next 15 years. That's not even counting anyone else.

There's about 15-18,000 regional pilots in the US.

There would have to be a global economic depression of unprecedented proportions to make a significant dent in those numbers.

The days of large FFD carriers, wholly owned or not, are numbered.

And while I think that Endeavor and some of the other regionals are really leading the charge by raising compensation. The current hiring environment won't last forever and neither will the current economic situation. Market forces will eventually leave them in a less than favorable position. It's all about the money for our legacy partners. If Delta felt they could secure reliable feed for cheaper than that, they would in a heartbeat. That is currently what the market is demanding and Delta is paying. Eventually, the market won't be demanding it, and what then?
Why would they increase the flow when PSA isn't filling classes? We should've taken the retention bonus.

Envoy is pulling 145s out of the desert, clearly they're staffing. WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT THIS TO HAPPEN?? Demand the MEC to take the deal, email them NOW! THE OFFER IS STILL THERE. TAKE WHAT YOU CAN GET NOW.

Go for contract gains later, like in June when we meet with the company to renegotiate the flow.

Taking the retention bonus. I think there were some caveats that weren't made public. And in my opinion, the union represents ALL pilots. Not just FOs. All pilots deserve a bonus. In the end, it wouldn't be worth succumbing to a divisive negotiating tactic for the sake of a little extra money.

New pilots are not showing up for $15,000 UP-FRONT bonuses! What makes you think that they would show up for two $10,000 retention bonuses, paid over 2 years?

Ask your rep or the mec if there were any caveats. They were giving away money and from what I understand WANTED NOTHING IN RETURN. Not sure if you're an FO or CA, either way it's going to get worst at PSA. Don't be shocked if they hold CA back from flowing till the end of the year and maybe going back to DEC's.

I don't know. Point is, they were giving away money and wanted nothing in return, from what I understand.

They are allowed to hold flows back for a period of time.

DEC? If they bypass eligible FOs, they better be ready to pay those FOs CA pay.
