The recruiters are paid extra to lie.

I don't know about that but these forums do serve to accurately educate people on what is happening. PSA does have some problems getting FOs which has put upgrades on hold this year.

Flew with a Captain who has been here for ~9 years and thinks he will flow at the end of the year. I know not an exact year but a ballpark.

There are plenty of bad parts, but with a $15,000 sign on bonus and decent training pay, the first year pay is pretty good now. The bad thing is that you will make less your second year than your first if you are not able to upgrade, and upgrades right now are non-existant. Reserve time is also long.
Thanks for the info. I live close to AVL so either CLT or Knoxville is a 2hr drive. I know CLT is senior so I hope Knoxville won't take that long.

Sim is usually in CLT?

Depends.

Last I was in a sim, 200s were in CVG and the 7/9s were in CLT. I have no idea if that's changed or what airframe they're doing initial in these days.

Sounds like you're in a really good spot to make this work.

The latest flows from PSA were hired in 2005. So it currently stands at 11 years. As I recall the latest Envoy flows were in the 15-16 year range.

No one's coming to PSA for flow. No one's coming for our next-to-lowest pay, (just above Mesa). If they can do rudimentary math, no one's coming for a quick upgrade either! And unless they happen to live in CLT, DAY, TYS, or CVG, they're not coming because of our bases. In truth, I have no idea why anyone's coming here.

My understanding is that all initial training these days is 7/9 and then 2 differences. So yes, most of the sims are in CLT... not that I would recommend choosing employment for the location of the simulator events; but I don't think that's what you were asking for.

TYS is running about as senior as CLT these days, but who knows how long that will hold true. I'm still putting my chips is the block that says PSA will do what is necessary to hold things together, the real question is on how the timing is going to work out.

Best of luck my friend,
DD

Thanks I have the interview next week. I haven't flown for over a year and this might be a nice start to come back in to aviation..
