Upgrades non-existent? I've been told you can upgrade as soon as you get 1000 sic? Someone needs to get these stories straight or recruiters need to be educated

Edit: If someone recenty told you you can upgrade once you hit 1000 hours they lied straight to your face.

Upgrades will pick back up soon. Attrition is increasing from the left seat, and they upgraded a ton of guys end of last year/early this year which caused the last few months to be slow. Maybe not right at 1,000 hours but 2 years is a guess.

I'll never apply for chief pilot cause I don't want to be managements lash. Even though your attempt to call me out was irrelevant as chief pilots here have zero impact on contract negotiations or how management runs the airline. Nice try though.
Correct I'm not a yes man, although I have hopes for TR. Certain individuals on the ALPA forum attempted to "call me out" and failed much as you are. I answered their bluff and not surprising, they didn't really want help.
When you get out of mom and dads basement for a few years and adult for a while you'll realize your not in high school anymore. I don't care about being liked or wanted. It's a job. Those two factors are meaningless.
I do think you have a need for me to validate you and provide you with my attention. I'm nowhere near the only dissenting voice however you seem to focus on me. It's flattering but I'm happily married with children.

One of the better parts of PSA is the training pay. You will make about $3000 a month during training (minimum of 75 hours credit per month plus per diem). Single occupancy rooms. Both of the hotels that they use have free breakfast. One of them will also pack you a brown bag lunch each day for free - just sign up for it the night before indicating what you want.
There are plenty of bad parts, but with a $15,000 sign on bonus and decent training pay, the first year pay is pretty good now. The bad thing is that you will make less your second year than your first if you are not able to upgrade, and upgrades right now are non-existant. Reserve time is also long.

Last I was in a sim, 200s were in CVG and the 7/9s were in CLT. I have no idea if that's changed or what airframe they're doing initial in these days.
Sounds like you're in a really good spot to make this work.
