ORD will go to whomever gets the Envoy 700s... If PSA can staff and AAG continues the transfer of them to us, then we will open ORD. If someone else like SkyWest or Air Wisconsin get them, well you see where I'm going with this. Either way, I think Envoy's 700s aren't going to be flown by Envoy pilots and ORD as an Envoy base is in question over the next couple years. I could see them reshuffling flying and reopening MIA though. Now that would make sense.
As far as FOs jumping ship to CA positions at Envoy, if I had my 1,000 121 SIC and was here at PSA less than 1.5 or maybe 2 years I'd definitely give it a shot. What would you have to lose? You would probably flow quicker if that was your goal, and you would be earning TPIC. Not the golden egg it once seemed to be, but very valuable nonetheless.

My understanding is that all initial training these days is 7/9 and then 2 differences. So yes, most of the sims are in CLT... not that I would recommend choosing employment for the location of the simulator events; but I don't think that's what you were asking for.
TYS is running about as senior as CLT these days, but who knows how long that will hold true. I'm still putting my chips is the block that says PSA will do what is necessary to hold things together, the real question is on how the timing is going to work out.
Best of luck my friend,
DD

I'm sure the PSA guys couldn't GAS about any Envoy rantings here. Why don't you try the Envoy thread instead...

Except that AA clearly wants single model/manufacturer operations. Your 700s were going away years ago no matter what anyone did or didn't do. You'll keep them through the summer since your shrinkage was slower than expected. Congratulations on a slowed flow so that you can staff AAs flying but lose the jets anyway to Mesa or whoever is cheaper then. We are all being played and carrying their water as the regional model dies a slow death over the next few years.

I would agree with this. I think any talks of being stapled to mainline and about regional being absorbed by mainline is wishful thinking. Mainline will hire who they need to hire to keep making money. Regionals will be "right sized" by attrition in the long run. I think ab initio will be the way that airline flying goes. Mainline pays for training in exchange for the pilot signing a long contract. Regionals aren't going anywhere in the long run, but everyone currently at one will have an opportunity to see much greener pastures in the next 5 years.

4th year pay at Psa is equal to other regionals first year pay is now and not to mention better Contracts, bases management.
The 10-12 year flow is worthless. You can get to American quicker on your own .Just leave the wo ,wait 6months,network, attend job fairs and keep your nose clean. You don't have to wait 10-15 years for the flow. They just want you to stay there and keep providing cheap lift.
If Psa could staff 500 planes they would get them because they are cheap lift, which parker loves. More cash in his pocket.
They want you at the wo as long as they can, more beneficial for them, not you.
