I believe PSA is the only one, but pilots have been saying that it is being unilaterally neutered by the company.

No one that is currently time building will be ready to upgrade at 1000 hours. If you came from corporate jets, turboprops, or something similar, then maybe. If you were a CFI, you will not be ready to be an airline captain after only 1000 hours of real experience.

Flying a single engine airplane has absolutely nothing in common with being an airline pilot. Nothing.

I wouldn't say neutered, but the processing times could be faster. I've been able to get whatever I really need.

Thanks Boiler, I do work there presently, and it is a great scheduling system when it operates properly. Because of sap, I've had every holiday I wanted off and every weekend I've wanted off. When I runs like it's supposed to, you can pretty much work when you want. Problem is it is insanely sloooow, and the last month had a lot of junk not worth trading for. I was just curious if any other airlines employ this method of scheduling as it could be a great recruiting tool, or if I decide to go somewhere else.

XJT ERJ has a SAP (ILIW) but it has restrictions on how many pilots can drop a day and what days can be dropped, you can't just drop xmas or july 4 like we can at PSA. I don't think any airline has the flexibility like SAP except maybe SWA, plus PSA still has line bidding where as most other airlines have gone to PBS.

That quick upgrade train has looooonnnggg left the station. They only had a total of 4 people upgrade this year .They are overstaffed on 4stripers now and really short on 3.Downgrades are on the horizon. A ton of fo''s who want to upgrade and cant,no vacancies.
Besides people are leaving that dump hole left and right, why would you want to go there?
Even with that bonus they offer, you can still make more at other places and fly better equipment. Grow, stagnate, then shrink. All the wo''s have went through this.Psa has grown, now everything is stagnant so you know what is coming next.If that recruiter told you that upgrade was possible as soon as you hit 1000 hrs, they flat out lied to you. It's not going to happen now,and your flow isn't 5-6 years for a new hire, more like 10-12 .
You can get hired by American on your own well before then and have seniority over all the other numnuts who waited 12 years for the almighty flow.

And they're still on Facebook calling everyone like you liars and saying new hires flow in 6 years.

So when you interview, (or talk to one of the recruiters),...... ask 'em if they'll make that promise to you in writing. Then sit back and watch 'em squirm.

If the recruiters are telling you that you will upgrade at 1000 hours that is a blatant lie. As is the 6 year flow.
You're a pilot so I will assume you can do simple math:

Approximately 600 FO's on property. So far this year 4 upgrades, or 1 per month. Many FO's with over 1000 hrs that have not upgraded.

Approximately 1200 total pilots. 5 per month to flow, or 60 per year. Double it for other attrition. 120 pilots gone per year equals 10 years to flow.

If the recruiters are telling you any different then that is dishonest and unprofessional.

There is no growth. Aircraft deliveries being deferred.
There is no opportunity. Except to work for the lowest pay under the worst contract.
I could go on and on...

It was a good run for a while. Nothing lasts forever. Nobody is immune to the shortage.
