If the only attrition ahead of you is from flow a 5 year time frame would be accurate for someone hired in 2012-2013. If you are hired tomorrow and attrition is only through flow you are looking at 18 years to flow.
Of course it is highly likely that attrition will be greater than just from the flow, so those timeframes come down. But the bigger threat is if PSA continues to be unable to staff, will AAG even honor the flow agreement? They've already shown a willingness to violate our contract, and they have disregaurded flow agreements in the past with Eagle.
My biggest complaint with PSA is that they've been promoting the idea of hiring 1000 pilots and growing the airline, but unwilling to increase compensation to remain competitive with the rest of the industry. What did they think would bring pilots here? At first quick career progression was enough for many but they had to know that would end by about the 1/2 way mark which is where we are now. So did they change their minds or was this the plan all along.

I'm with you. Theres nothing begging anyone to come here right now...and the marketing bs has got to stop...its likely right now if you came here to take at least 10-12 years...

The way it has gone down recently is a scheduler says you must do x and when you refuse the scheduling supervisor says you must do it or else, and when you say no the chief pilot calls and threatens punitive action. When it escalates that far over something black and white in the contract there is a serious problem.
Also an employee's age has no effect, whether its an 18 year old or 65 year old, if they are threatening to damage your career with a letter of reprimand over a clear contractual violation there is a problem.

Why would you do all that, just say no. If you are clearly correct than you have nothing to worry about. Are you scared of a few 20 years olds? This is why pilots are in the position they are in is they won't stand up for themselves even when they are clearly in the right.
You are personally causing major problems for the pilot group if this is how you let things play out, -1 point for you.

Can a displaced pilot be preemptively extended past his original trip release time? I'll even give you the associated language.
"A displaced pilot will be released by the release time on the last day of his originally scheduled trip."
Keep sitting there telling people "-1 point" or "stand up for yourself" when the chief pilot tells you "do it or be disciplined" have fun standing up for yourself.
Continue to live in a dream world where PSA does not violate our contract.

Oh do you have to have a high post count to be able to read and compare a contract? Let me go post a couple thousand times and then I'll have the forum cred you desire. But the truth won't change.

Please post said comparison from contracts in place at other regionals, at the time the contract vote occurred. You don't get to pull 2015/2016 contracts for comparison. Thank you.

You're standing on the train tracks looking at the bright lights coming towards you, trying to figure out what it is instead of moving out the way.
Once that last 900 hits the property in a month or two the music stops and will remain that way for a long time.
They are staffed for that, nothing beyond.
Stick around if you want.
Let me know how that works out for you .
