I have been here one year and still can't hold a line in CLT. I have been 30 away for about 4 months. I don't expect to hold a line for at least another 6 months. My guess would be two years for new hire

Seniority list shrunk by 20 in March, including the new hires. The plan to hire 1000 addition pilots is clearly broken.
Bottom of industry pay & work rules = continued contraction, delivery deferral, career stagnation, less schedule flexibility, cancelled vacations, and downgrades.

And the way things are going now 5or 6 years from now you will be able to go to the major or llc of your choice. You won't need a friggin' flow.

I honestly would not expect pay to increase by much when other regionals with much better pay are only having 2 people show up to class. True story. Management knows increasing pay was a fix that needed to be made 6 months ago. It's too late for that to work on a scale they need it to. So now what? They sit on their hands and wait to see which non-wholly owneds fail. We aren't likely to grow by much more than we have when the last of the 900s get delivered and we will stagnate a bit for a while. If that happens I would expect flow to increase and retention bonuses to be dangled in front of FOs again. There will still be movement going forward as pilots leave for legacies and LCCs over the next couple years and as we flow pilots to mainline. This place will still offer more movement than many. I would personally not go to RAH. Too risky. I would consider PSA for a specific set of circumstances. If you fall within those circumstances, it isn't a bad place to be. If however you find yourself commuting from far away because some recruiter promised you CLT and a quick upgrade, you failed to do your homework.

If it were me I would take rah over psa right now.Rah will not shrink ,they are hiring and filling classes like crazy.I know 2people who left psa for them and they wish they would have done it a long time ago.Rah will trim the fat and be leaner and meaner than before.
In addition Rah has a better contract by far now, better, commuter friendly bases ,better pay ,even with the 15 know bonus Psa is offering, quick math tells me Rah is a better option. In addition, you will be flying a much more superior aircraft.
Passengers hate the crjs, all of them.I've been in the back commuting and heard the comments before. Not to mention having 76 people trample over you in the jet way trying to get their valet bags and catch connecting flights. It's a horrible passenger experience. The 175 is just an overall better, passenger friendly aircraft.
Pay at any of the wholly owned will not increase. They are waiting for one of the other regionals to fail and hoping the pilots jump ship to solve their staffing problem. If the wo''s can't staff properly, those planes will be dealt to whoever they think can,end of story.

Now if those RAH pilots move on to Delta or United, that I can't speak to.
There will be no other way to get to American Airlines unless you go through one of their 3 wholly owned regionals.

Based on current numbers, it looks like about probably 6 months to hold CLT.
The good news is, anything you may have read about a training backlog is over. That pipeline is quick now. Only a few days between events, Ground, Oral, Sim, IOE. Its all happening fast. PSA spun up a ton of instructors in preparation for heavy duty hiring.

Trivia question: How many pilots are in the April upgrade class?
Answer: It's a trick question. There IS NO April upgrade class. And so far, no upgrade class for May,.... or June,.... or....

And apparently most of 'em are back flying the line, (and taking round one lines away from those of us who are below them in seniority), because there aren't a whole lot of pilots coming through the PSA training pipeline these days,...... f/o's OR Captains.
