Default The United Aviate Program is a joke!

United does not want to hire you from their Aviate program. They want you to fly their passengers at a fraction of the cost. I did the interview and didn't get it. The majority of interviewees during my interview were military. That should tell you something about their little Aviate Program. I should have moved on from XJT a long time ago. They definitely did a good job of stringing us along thinking we'll have a shot at United.

The crazy part is, they are luring younger people into thinking they should fly for one of the 4 regionals. Then they will go to United when their time has been met. That makes me sick! I would be very upset if I was in this program and went through college thinking I would get hired. I have done a fair amount of time at XJT. No major issues that would prevent me from being part of the program and still denied...twice.

Do not Opt in to their program. You will only be setting yourself up for failure when you see the other people in the interview are mainly NOT regional pilots.

Rant over.

Plenty of people getting in. Just because you didn’t doesn’t mean the program is a bust.

I have had 6 good buds from Xjet that completed their interviews and received CJO’s. Maybe you need to look internal and figure out why.

So they already had the UAX time to go to UAL? Or do they now have to complete the hour requirements?

They have met all the requirements but have to wait 6 months per the new Aviate requirements. All of them had been at Xjet 7+ years and meet the hour requirements.

Well it sounds like the program is a lot better then people are making it out to be. Obviously it’s not going to be a 100% success rate, hence the interview process and not a flow. Thanks for the information, a lot of my buddies were really stressed after reading the email from United about candidates being under prepared. But since 6 candidates that you know alone in the first week were successful, it sounds like it’s going well.

6 out of what? 100?? They are running interviews of 12 people 2 times a day. Almost everyday! They definitely had to accept some otherwise that would make their new program look bad. I'm not bitter, I've already moved on, just want people to see that this is another carrot and no reason to fly for these regionals if United is your goal. Sure a free interview, but can you imaging if you thought you'd go to United while you were spending 100k on flying to pursue the mainline.
