newgrad411 works for mesa and he/she is just in denial. he/she could only wish they worked for a respectful airline. people that defend mesa are defending an erosion of professionalism in the air transport industry.
newgrad411- good luck with negotations. if you really wanted to make a difference than you would start picketing now instead of trying to display pure ignorance on this thread.
ps - i flew for mesa for a short time and got out. i now work for a carrier that is respectful, doesn't have 3 MELs per aircraft, doesn't short me on pay and upholds the contract. the same company that ornstein blames his company's misfortunes on... HAHAH! what a stupid little twist. http://starbulletin.com/2007/08/07/b...s/story05.html

"Low Morale, Pilot Exodus, Disgruntled Labor
Mesa Management, Give Your Pilots a Reason to Stay."
They ACCEPTED the Crappy pay and Crappy working conditions and yet:
"THEY CAN"T ACCEPT THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR BEING ONE OF TWO PARTIES TO SIGN THE CONTRACT"
Now they waste pilots dues by tossing up their whining messages on billboards.
Do you wonder why this career field is in the trash???

We all know that Mesa management has taken advantage of all their employee groups. However, this is nothing new. That company has operated like that since its inception.
Out of all the airlines out there, which ones actually have management that doesnt take advantage of the pilot group?

I never complained about Mesa, just for the record. Don't turn this thread into something that it is not.
I was ripping on some CFI's, and everyone and their brother jumped in and felt the need to tell me what a piece of **** I am. My morale is high, as I am working a lot, and enjoying it.
I like how everyone assumes I'm a disgruntled, mesa guy who hates his job b/c I got upset with a cfi over sounding like he knew a boatload about regional airlines, when in fact he doesn't.
Relax guys.

Why is it that only Mesa pilots have backpacks... what do you guys keep in there?

411 is leading a sheltered life at...flying the Dash in CO apparently low threat right now. A few displacements due to aircraft going away or bases changing will change that for him. It's the reality for the other 99% at that place.

I've seen more guys with them in my short time at UPS than I did over too many years at Mesa...

The bid just came out from the JFK elimination of the dash, and all of the pilots (100ish) coming out west and or getting the ERJ out of JFK.
Only 25 of the guys over there are senior to me, and only 10 are coming to DEN. The rest took got the jet. 8 of them are captains, so my situation has hardly changed. Still on the top half of the F/O list.
