They cant staff the flights as it is. This only means more cuts are coming.

A there are more displacements coming? Does this simultaneously disprove the feb displacement cancellation rumor AND the 10% growth rumor?

Leave it to comair to be the only airline capable of knocking down two positive rumors and replacing them with two or more negative ones in one swing.

A Captain asked "If I accept this Early Out, and then there is a displacement that puts me back to FO, would I get this severance at the Captain's pay, or the newly displaced FO pay?" They weren't really prepared to answer that question, but they did say that they wouldn't have a problem having that be whatever pay the employee is at when they accept the offer, contingent on ALPA's approval.

This alone tells me that they are prepared to downgrade more Captains

It was also asked if ALPA was planning on taking a cut out of the pay out, and the room got SILENT. They also said that they were not prepared for that question to even come up and that they would be in discussion with ALPA soon.

The buyout is PRE-tax, so you can take about 25% out for the IRS and then State and local taxes out. I'd say 30%. Then if ALPA plans on taking some too, this almost makes this not so attractive.

I didn't listen in on the call so i don't know with what kind of infliction J.B. answered the question. I also don't understand how you see more downgrades from what was said. It seems to me that he just answered the question, using the scenario that was given.

Regardless, if more downgrades are coming, i'd say this is even a BIGGER incentive for junior captains on the bubble to peace out.

ALPA better not take a cut, they wouldn't take your 401K money when you cash it out after you retire would they?

I hope things are set on fire if ALPA even thinks about slicing some off the top.

From the way RP answer the questions during the comference call, I was under the impression that we would see more downgrades and possible another round of furloughs if we do not have enough takers of the early out. But again, someone said (I’m not sure who) It is very difficult to predict the company needs at this time.

Ok, so just to make it clear:

You didn't listen to the message?

JB didn't even speak in todays conference call.

Someone asked about a soon to be displacement bid and it was confirmed that there is a one coming.

They specifically said that they are hoping that enough people will take this 55 Point/Early Out Program so that additional downgrades and furloughs are not needed, but these numbers would have an affect on the displacement.

Here are my views again on ALPA thinking that they are due anything out of this. Their argument might be that they are the ones that came up with this program. My argument is that I already paid them via my dues to come up with it. And YES, I WILL QUIT ALPA BEFORE I ACCEPT THIS OFFER. I would love to fight a case against this "little boys club" in court!

I agree with you on ALPA taking dues out of our final payment. That is unacceptable! As long as I have been here, I should know this. Can you quit ALPA? What are the steps in doing so? Is it easy? Do they give you problems if you do?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Comair ALPA is an “Agency Shop” meaning, you don’t need to join ALPA, but they still make you PAY.

As far as Federal taxes, go into corporate payroll and fill out a form to “Block” Federal withholding tax for the last check. There is nothing illegal about that, all it will do is reduce your refund next year. That way you can have more of your money now.

Great advice but the HR has been furloughed too. It seem that everyone that woks at the GO has a floor to them self. Choice of parking spots too.
