As you already know RHS (RH MESS) is going too be the new ground services company from Comair, Mesaba and Compass. I asked one manager what he thought about that. Aside from the usaul yadda yadda yadda, we got on the subject of the pilots and flight attendants.

he said......

(I guess you all's contract is coming up soon.) EXPECT Comair /Delta to offer you guys a contract that THEY consider to be fair or has it put it in line with other DCI carriers. He said that the PILOT & F/A COST ARE STILL TOO HIGH. This offer will be a take it or leave it type deal. If you decline as they expect you to, Comair will be FURLOUGHED out of existence. Looks like anyone who had the preminition as to why BENDO was truly here, there you go.

The manager that told me this was ****ed, he was a Manager in C/S, and was told he would have to reapply for his job, except Northwest wants thier people in his department and more than likely he would not be offered his position back - that's about 98% of the managers. If anyone cares and like you/I really can, I would suggest moving on.
Good Luck on your move

Man, you guys are ****ed, shoot the messenger why don't cha?

To answer: no, took a job at Comair to transfer to the flight side of the house I did interview with Comair and was given a raw deal by a previous employer, Comair recruiter found out about it some time later (same thing happened to a bud of his so to help me out they bought me on- along with 5 other pilots.)

Next questions answered, no, I did part 135 heavy props in blackbeard country, My story? Well it all began sometime in the 60's, see, my mother met my father, then procreation took place................

Anyway guys/gals, I'm just telling you what a manager told me. I hope he's wrong. I know many of you are angry at what happened, can't blame you and I hope things work out for the best for everyone.

Will that really happen? It may, but now at least you know what Delta may have up thier sleeve. Excuse me for giving the warning!!

Yes, expensive.

I assume you are equating expense with quality. Although you personally (or other employees I am sure) don't think the buyout is worthy, it is still an added cost Comair would have to incur. Lets play the what if game. What if a large number of employees took the buyout. Lets say hundreds or even a thousand employees took advantage of this offer. Comair would have to be prepared to bear the added cost to their balance sheet. Essentially they would be paying an employees for nothing in return. An added expense therefore, expensive.

For that reason, I don't believe Comair (Delta) would offer such a program unless the intent was for us to exist.

Mesaba and Compass - wholly owned, so they're scrood too.

Pinnacle - in negotiations right now.

Republic/Chitaqua - in negotiations right now.

ASA - got a new contract last year. Better than Comair's in most every way.

SkyWest - they don't get contracts, they get handouts.

Freedom - just signed an industry-leading contract. Unfortunately still leading the industry in the wrong direction.

Did I miss anyone?

Luckily for Comair, whipsaw means the tall grass gets cut. Comair hasn't been tall grass since 2007.

You bid specific windows during the SAW, then they come out after that.

Heehee!

Hey, one thing I'm confused about. Where exactly is "Blackbeard country"? Blackbeard hailed from England and spent time along the whole eastern shore of North America, as well as the Caribbean. He sailed up the Chesapeake, hid out in Pamlico Sound in NC, blockaded Charleston harbor in SC (and actually lived in Charleston for a while, with his wife), partied in Nassau in the Bahamas, and sailed the entire Caribbean from Cuba to Aruba.

Please make my fantasy image come true and tell me you flew DC-3's or Convairs in the Caribbean. Sweet!

My dream was to fly Grumman Mallards to the Bahamas, and all I got was this furlough letter!
