Oh my! I would believe the Washington Post over a government beaurocracy
I'm ready for a few states with balls and common interests to NULLIFY the wills of this President and start bearing some real arms. The Legislative branch of our government obviously doesn't have the will/ability to check this guy. Therefore, the people and the states should do what they have to do. Academia and hippies are running this country and, last I checked, they hardly put bread on any of our tables.

How's Comair guys?

Think about this a 16 year Capt on the 70 makes over $93 an hour a 1st Year FO at Delta makes $52 an hour. its not as simple as you may think most of those 16 year Capt have a house a mortgage kids in school a car payment or two taking a big pay cut like that is a major sacrifice. Unless the economy reverses course in the next 12 months I dont see any major airline hiring in droves for the next 36 months, I am not preaching gloom and doom just what I see as reality right now, sure their are jobs out there but they are few.

The Company wants people to QUIT and this is one way they are tying to do it. Comair is very Top Heavy and management knows that and they are trying to cut the fat.

A 16 year Capt has decent pay ok QOL why would they go somewhere to Be on RESERVE for a LONG time for almost half the pay. I remember in 07 Delta was putting alot of new hires on the 76ER out of JFK so there is no gurantee that said 16 year Capt would not end up at as you say JF'n K,
That 16 year Captain that you talk about is definitely affected here. He/she is not going to have good quality of life anymore. They in fact will now be on reserve in CVG after not having been on reserve for a very long time. I also think a bit of these people will be looking for jobs outside the industry and not just at a major airline like you speak of. It is still a very tough market in other industries as well, but there are jobs out there for those that are qualified for them.

I'm not sure how much, but I wonder what the difference is in pay for a 16 year Captain holding a line and a 16 year captain on reserve will be.

I'm not responsible for any of it. I'm an honest, hard working citizen. I don't buy things I can't afford and don't expect anybody, including government, to give me anything. I also don't declare unnecessary wars and write unprudent fiscal policy and "stimulus" bills - insert ALL of the politicians here. I support myself, believe in totally free markets, and believe the federal government is WAY beyond the scope of our constitution. And surely there are a few hundred million Americans like myself that would like to do something about it. We've witnessed the limits of a corrupt centralized federal government and financial system. Let's decentralize both of these institutions and give the country back to whom she belongs - the People.

Totally ON-subject.... Is RJ still standing in the HR office at Comair? That airplane mascot cracked me up. Anybody have a picture?

Default PL question

Hey for someone who is lucky enough to get an interview somewhere else, what is the Chiefs policy on granting personal leave on a work day to go interview somewhere?
