Well, the wind down started today. The DL CVG flight cuts go into operation according to some gate agents I spoke with. They also claim Delta is doubling the number of flights to be cut. Bid packets look awfully thin.

Going to go teach some newbs about flying, crush thier dreams and eliminate the competition before it starts. How's that laugh go Boomer?
Mwuahahahahahaha!!!!!

But seriously plan B is in full swing, still gonna stay at Comair for now. If we are all gone, I want my unemployment.

Okay too early to rant, I know, back to Tangeray and cranberry juice. :}

I know a couple of rampers that need a pad, still interested? One looks like Elvis' lost love child and the other smells like a cat.

Auto man, It's barely 10am and you are not drunk yet?. How are you supposed to "teach some newbs" how to fly if you're not up to your full self yet?. Drink on, and staqy thirsty my friend.

But seriously, where do you instruct?. Here in MCO getting a CFI job involves doing things that'll crown a man as "the best kisser in your cell unit". So bartending it is for me.

Gonna check out the local college flight scene. I should have been clearer, I going back to get my CFI's don't have a job yet teaching, except practicing on local CFI canidates.(once that starts.) There are some kids here at Comair that want me to free lance once I'm done since places like sporty's are man sexing them with there fees. $110.00 hrly for a 172? YIKES!!! I know the job prospects are dim right now, but when it picks up thanks to a certain Colgan Captain, the mins will be I think well over 1000 TT and hiring will be gang busters!!!

Have you tried teaching ground at one of the local colleges down there? UC up here was looking for CFI's to teach ground courses so I was told but I see they are laying off faculty so who knows.

Did any of you guys read the chat transcript between Glenn H. (Delta network planning exec) and the Delta employees from yesterday? Sounds like they plan to use you guys for some of the LGA routes as a result of this new deal. That's hopefully SOME good news for you.

Possibly, but doubtful. #1 I've got to see it to believe it. #2, any "growth" out of LGA will come at the expense of a further reduction in CVG block hours. My guess is Comair will operate some new routes out of LGA, but will still lose at least 1000 block hours in the process.

Some of the flying will be shifted from DCA to LGA.

According to the Comair haters on the Delta thread, one of the wholly owned DCI carriers will be sold in October.

Yeah I've been hearing that same thing. hmm...
or should you say "Delta will attempt to sell one of the wholly owned". Who knows who it will be. Delta is so unpredictable. Most people would think the obvious answer is Comair. But there are no guarantees.

No one wants to buy Comair! With a fleet of mostly CRJ200’s and a senior workforce, who wants to buy them? I'm thinking Compass to RAH. Unless Delta sells Comair to the Devil "Mesa" with some sort of block hour guarantee. Mesa will find a way to furlough out of seniority and all the expensive Comair guys will be gone.
