thank you. but are there any limits to what they will aprove for a move. again hypothetical but if i were recalled and given JFK (i was CVG) would they only pay if i were to move to NY or could i move back to cincy (or any other city for that matter) and commute to JFK? a friend of mine did something similiar after he was recalled to air whiskey. they changed his base he was living and based in PHL but was recalled to DCA. he had moved back to DEN after his furlough and when he was recalled they moved him up to MSP and he commutes. does comair let that happen or do they have some sort of distance requirement to base

I am pretty sure that's what I learned... It makes sense... If you have them give you money to move to your displaced base then you lose rights to a commuter clause, because you aren't commuting if you took the money to move to your new base.
Chapter 6 (Moving Expenses) does not mention the Commuter Clause.
Chapter 24Q (Commuter Clause) does not mention Relocation.
Therefore you can take a company-paid move and still use commuter clause.
Comair/ALPA Pilot Agreement
Section 6.B:
The company is required to pay moving expenses when a pilot is displaced or assigned...from one domicile to another in accordance with Section 23 and when a pilot is recalled from furlough to a domicile different than the domicile from which he was furloughed.
The commuter clause has nothing to do with the company paid moving expenses. I know first hand. I lived in CVG and was displaced to JFK. Since I could not afford to live in NYC I moved to ATL. Since the distance from CVG to JFK is more than CVG to ATL, the company paid for the entire move. That is when you then fill out a new commuter form from you're home city and it is done. The commuter clause remains intact and untouched.
