What are we talking about? That the union is "preparing a letter to aid in streamlining recalls"

This is what what they should have already done. Not have implemented it but at least been working on bringing back their "brothers" on the street. That should be their biggest priority. Yes I know it's not. But it should be.

But so far, I still don't know/understand what really is going on. Someone please bring me up to par here. Thanks.
Not gay... moving past the porn genre into deadwood status.

The LOA would allow involuntary furloughs to bypass a recall.

That's not streamlining the recall process.

They should be able to bypass... but i don't know about keeping their seniority...

As of right now, if you are a VOLUNTARY furlough you can bypass recall, but if you are an INvoluntary furlough and you get recalled, you either have to take it or leave it and give up your number/benefits. Apparently they are working on a LOA that would allow involuntary furloughs to bypass, which is a good thing for the furloughees.

Nobody really knows if Comair is going to recall anymore pilots. The Freedom flying is still undecided, and personally I don't think it will be that much flying anyway. Freedom might be doing 50 departures out of DTW right now, but that isn't to say it will stick around, go to Comair or go away all together. DL is cutting more routes, removing more 50 seaters and shirking CVG even more. Comair will still lose more 50s this year, and IF the rumors of the CR7/9s going to ASA are true, there is no need for them to recall.

why not seniority?? they should be able to bypass with seniority. Thats how every major airlines furlough is negotiated.

Negotiated before the furlough in the CBA. Not after the furloughs happen. You don't like it when the company tries to change the rules, what's the difference?

I understand people had to maybe sign contracts and other things that would prevent them from coming back... I'm sorry.

But that's the deal.

Good for you Jesse, you are enjoying your long term vacation. They might you to trim the handle bar so you dont scare passangers

Regarding the bypass issue, I thing having the ability to bypass and not lose seniority is a possitive for all of us. This will allow a lot of people that want to buypass to be able to do it which will speed up the prcess of going down the list.

There are tons of things the company could do to make life easier on our crews. Even Scheduling wants more of you guys back on line than what we've recalled. But the union/Scheduling don't make those decisions.
I know the union is working very hard on bringing as many furloughed pilots back as they can and I have all the respect for the hard work they put in specially M.P. But when the furloughs started back in 2008, the union did not show much interest "or at least did not communicate with us" or efforts to try to bring furloughed pilots back. The big topic of interest was eMaestro.

I’m glad that things are changing and the union is paying more attention to the staffing levels at Comair. I hope their efforts will bring all of us back to work very soon.
