I think that Ohiocrjfo is saying that these guys got a chance at some training and some flying for a while that they would likely not have gotten for a long time had Comair not hired them...hard to say that they were "screwed over", if Comair had not hired them they would likely be doing they same thing they are doing today anyway, flight instructing, whatever, waiting to get hired by an airline...not like they all permanantly turned down better flying jobs only to get furloughed, you know? At least that is my take on what he was trying to say.

I think it's a bit of a rude, baseless comment. Sure, it was nice of Comair to let us finish our training, but don't pretend some of us didn't leave other jobs or burn bridges to come to Comair. You guys really just need to be supportive of every pilot on the seniority list instead of making useless/insensitive commentary. "Screwed over" is a term I would use until I return to Comair.

I would not categorize them all as having no CFI time and no cargo time as you have no idea who they hired, nor their background. Sure, some maybe had 250TT but a couple were from ATA. And if you think that getting hired by a company, leaving your current job, only to find out they are getting layed off is not getting "screwed over all that much" then please define your version of getting "screwed over."

Well it looks like Atlantic southeast has been asked by Delta to handle more flying thus the total recall. It also looks like they are adding 5 more line check pilots for future growth. My question to all here, who did not believe me, what has Comair done to show future growth for you? Looks like what I have been saying is starting to take shape...

You should probably hang onto the term for after you return to Comair, as well.

It's all part of the circle of life for airline pilots...

Complain that your reserve window sucks
Complain that your line didn't give you the days off that you bid for
Complain that upgrade times are obnoxiously long
Complain about being on reserve again as a captain
Complain that your 21-year-old FO doesn't know $@#%
Complain that the MD-88 is an outdated narrow-body POS
Complain about your schedule
Complain about the 10-year+ upgrade time
