Comair updates?
It's all part of the circle of life for airline pilots...
Complain that your flight instructor won't let you solo
Complain that your check instructor keeps pushing back your test
Complain that your students don't show up on time
Complain that the regionals aren't hiring
Complain that your reserve window sucks
Complain that your line didn't give you the days off that you bid for
Complain that upgrade times are obnoxiously long
Complain about being on reserve again as a captain
Complain that your 21-year-old FO doesn't know $@#%
Complain that the MD-88 is an outdated narrow-body POS
Complain about your schedule
Complain about the 10-year+ upgrade time
Complain about the Age-65 Rule
After retirement, Complain about Age-65 Rule being moved to 70
Complain about losing medical
Complain about being sent to nursing home
Death

Well it looks like Atlantic southeast has been asked by Delta to handle more flying thus the total recall. It also looks like they are adding 5 more line check pilots for future growth. My question to all here, who did not believe me, what has Comair done to show future growth for you? Looks like what I have been saying is starting to take shape...
I predict Delta hires thirty ASA pilots, and a portion of them will be line check airmen. How's that for an alternate explanation?
Just so I have this straight... Comair recalling pilots and bringing back LCAs means nothing, but ASA recalling pilots and adding LCAs means Comair is finished?!?
Whada doosh.
ASA getting 5 more LCAs means you were right about Comair being dismantled by the end of 2010? Dude, just because you're furloughed doesn't mean you should be hitting the crack pipe so hard.

Did you ever consider that Comair just recalled more pilots than were ever furloughed from ASA? Booya son!! I think I speak for the lot of us that your ASA is the "chosen one" rhetoric is getting old fast.
I think it's a bit of a rude, baseless comment. Sure, it was nice of Comair to let us finish our training, but don't pretend some of us didn't leave other jobs or burn bridges to come to Comair. You guys really just need to be supportive of every pilot on the seniority list instead of making useless/insensitive commentary. "Screwed over" is a term I would use until I return to Comair.
I turned down 2 other airlines for Comair, which I interviewed last at. If I had gone to either one of the others, I'd still be flying today instead of doing another deployment in Iraq.
So, you are saying because Freedom hired low-time guys (Comair has too by the way), it is ok that the majority of Freedom/Mesa guys are getting furloughed? You do realize that the ONLY reason we are recalling is because Freedom Air is getting their contract terminated and DL needed someone to cover their butt? I really have to scratch my head every time I read one of your posts on here....

You'll get signed off by a checkairman when deemed ready. You'll get at least 5 hours, but they are talking about putting guys on a 4 day trip now...
Now I'm scratching my head??? My point was that a lot of guys that got hired to cover anticipated flying from Freeedom's contract being cancelled had very low time. Not all. So for those of you ATA/Military guys etc.... I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about the guys that got nothing more than a Commercial license with no experience other than being a student. These pilots got a great opportunity to go through training at Comair along with 50 or more jet hours.
Try thinking outside of the box a bit when it comes to defining "being screwed". There's more to life than just gaining a little bit of flying experience. There were families involved, other than flying careers, prior flying opportunities, TIME, MONEY. For example... I estimate my financial losses, as a direct result of Comair hiring me then immediately furloughing me, to be in the ballpark of $50000 lost income. My previous income over 1.5 yrs - Comair income/unemployment income/present income = ~($50000)
I'm not sure why you would want to push this agenda. You might just want to apologize and move on with life. Good luck to you.
