90 Minutes People...90 Minutes

So it is written, so it shall be done.

Anybody find a good crash pad in DTW yet? I have heard talk, but nothing firm from anyone. If anyone found something nice (no roaches, no overcrowding, transportation...etc) PM me please.

Delta is getting rid of 50s asap... Comair has the oldest in the fleet which means those will probably be the first to go right? What makes anyone think that delta will replace those 50s with 70/90s??

ESPECIALLY when they have just sold two regional airlines with a promise to the buyer (same as the ASA deal) that Delta will give them a certain amount of flying. Delta doesn't have to promise Comair anything... they own them… and have the power to shrink them by taking away airplanes and not replacing them… (which is exactly what they have been doing for the past 5 years)

Sooo… I ask again, why does anyone think delta will replace the 50s they are taking from Comair?

Someone posted this on the ALPA board. I found it funny and sad:

Crashpad? In Detroit?
Even Comair First Officers can afford a home in Detroit...

Here are a few available for newly upgraded Comair Captains:

Any one of these is better than what many have been doing for years now...sleeping together with a bunch of other people in JFK operations.

Please note that our DTW crew base will follow the contractual obligation that a reserve pilot or flight attendant will be subject to a ninety (90) minute report time after notification.

That should be plenty of time for DTW. Just keep in mind the crew bussing here is horrible compared to CVG.

I was actually thinking of moving to MI, not Detroit, but somewhere within the 90 minute call out. I am going to wait though, because with my luck we will be sold and change bases to FL, and I'll wind up doing a commute in the wrong direction. Or, we will be furloughed again...in MI, the worst place to find a job in the country! Or...if I should have GOOD LUCK for once, I'll move up there and then be offered a job somewhere that requires me to live in base (corporate, etc..) and I will be stuck trying to sell a Michigan house

HAHAHA! Even thinking positive, I have a negative thought! See what Comair has done!?! Darn you.....OH!
