so over 800 pilot jobs gone by the end of 2012, wow. you know the buyout package is gonna suck arse. Comair has the strong hand here and i wouldnt expect much money. Anyone know if i'll get a pay out for my vacation bank if i resign now?

I'd say it guaranteed they will be trying to get all three unionized groups to take pay cuts on the upcoming contracts. Time to start looking out of KY I guess...anyone know of nice areas around GSO for a family? I had a offer from a job there but couldn't take it due to a family situation.

I flew for Comair for 9 years. I hope that all of the effected employees find a company that will treat them like the aviation professionals they are. Delta once again proves what kind of company they really are.

Their main goal is to cut costs. Buyouts will lower their cost more than a furlough will. A buyout is a set cost and a furlough is just a prolonged pause which still ends up costing them much much more in the long run.
