Where are you guys staying? Has anyone found a really good deal, yet on a hotel crashpad? Recommendations?
just curious how these hotel crashpads work compared to a typical crashpad?

Surprised? We were in the first class to come back and were told that there were a few hours scheduled for a visit from JB, DS, and SB.....none showed up. A few days later, JB showed up to a recurrent FA class next door, but never even stuck his head in to say "Hello". About a week into it, DS came in and talked to us for about 15 minutes....how we are not competitive, captains make too much, FAs make too much.....and so on. SB stuck his head in the door during a systems class and said "Hey, just wanted to say Welcome Back" and then he was gone.

Management does not want to sit and field questions from pilots. We are a bitter, disappointed bunch....and we ask the questions they don't know how to answer.

Default A Reserve Question

Okay it's been awhile so if anyone could paste the section of the contract that deals with this question I would appreciate the help.

While on reserve you're assigned a trip. When you get back you're allowed to check out. Are you released to rest or are you know back in your window?

This was the subject of much debate in the crew room.

What about a ready reserve?

I can't view the contract online so I appreciate the help.

If I remember correctly you must be assigned the trip within your window but it may be scheduled to depart up to 1 hour after the RR ends.

What about just a regular trip?

I thought you had to be released in base for ten hours. Then after that you could be in your window depending on what time you got in and your reserve window.

I forget where it is but it says you can released to rest or go back into the remainder of your window or get another assignment.

I think there was something in there that said they had X amount of minutes after you checked out to call you back if your window is still good. Might have to be those irregular ops. If they claim that I would make sure your union has been notified of the irregular ops.

I also thought you could be released, but if you still had time on your window open, that you were susceptible to another 90 minute call out. Or is that a double DSL?

18. When a reserve pilot is given an assignment, his duty time will commence at the scheduled report time of the assignment, or when he actually reports, whichever is later. He will remain on duty until he is released to rest by Crew Scheduling or the later of:
a. The scheduled termination of his assigned reserve period, or his ready reserve assignment, which ever comes first.
b. The termination of an assignment which may extend beyond the scheduled termination of the reserve pilot's reserve period or the scheduled termination of his ready reserve assignment.
c. Limitations set forth in Section 12 or the applicable FARs

When you check out (from your RR....leave and do not answer the phone!!!)
They can call you before the end of your READY RESERVE for an assignment up to 1 hour after...but can't call you after you check out.
