I said it back then...run, people, run! It ain't gonna last!

Sure, I'll hear now "I've been looking." and "I got no place else to go." Really? Look around, there are much better places to be, whether flying or not.
As a few have said, it's much better on the outside than it is there.

Sure, some people were like that, but honestly, it's a lot easier for FOs, especially junior FOs, to move on. For the captains, it's a lot harder to give up their paychecks and take a leap of faith until they have to.

Of course, a lot of captains are now junior to those FOs.

There are places to go, but how much better they are really depends. Take ASA/XJT. Both are quality airlines, but man, I wouldn't want to be near the bottom of that list.

I was surprised how long it took to leave. I was hired by Compass a few weeks after the initial announcement, but I decided that wasn't the right move for me. It took more than a year to find something that was a step up more than a step back.

It's bad enough being stuck at Comair with no future, so I'm glad more guys can keep the paychecks coming while they look for something better.

Leaving Comair and the Delta septic tank (aka DCI) was the best decision I ever made. If you have a chance to leave, take it and run and don't look back.

RJ,

Good to see you're still lurking out there. Are you based out of Miami? If so maybe we can get grab lunch or something.

Also, I finally started watching Battlestar Gallactica on the BBC. What a great show. I'm totally hooked on a show which is now in reruns

I lurk quite a bit but don't post all too often any more.

We are home based here at Omni, so for now I'm still in Cincitucky. We may move back to Florida one of these days. Time will tell.

And thank the Gods you're watching BSG. It's a frakking kick @$$ show. Eddie Olmos is great and Caprica 6 is sexy as hell. You should buy the DVD box set. It has some great "side episodes", so to speak, that were basically mini-movies that told more to the story of certain episodes. For instance, Razor is my favorite because it tells about the Pegasus and Admiral Kane before they came across Galactica. Blood and Chrome, a new series, should be coming out later this year and it's about Adama when he was a viper pilot in the first cylon war. Pretty good stuff!!

How's Eagle treating you? If I'm down that way, we'll definitely grab a brew or two.

Maybe you should stop chasing those American FA's at the beach and maybe pick up the phone or give me a call back! Slacker

I'll definitely have to pick up the box set. Caprica also played in a few seasons of burn notice. All I have to say is wow!

I see your company out of Miami all the time. Since I never fly please drop a line. I seem to be chasing a line much like charlie brown trying to kick the football. Every time I get close the line keeps moving.

For my fellow ex-CMR people asking about W-2s, I did receive mine today. Also got my new certificate for my new type rating today, even better!

OK guys, roll call. Who else is still at Comair? Driver, Bubba, Irrelevant, Sakamoto, and Trashpilot are all gone, Failblazer was never here to start with, Red and PAOK are furloughed forever.

So who's still here? Just Evilboy?

I'm not furloughed, I found a new gig and quit before I thought I was going to get furloughed for the second time. Turns out that if I had stayed I would still be holding on by the short curlys. Although I wouldn't trade my new job for anything. Out of my initial new hire class of 17, only two remain and they are both trying to find employment elsewhere.
