Rumor has it that Comair was sold to SkyWest; announcement at the end of December. My source is a person in the Crew Room.

Or quit and get a vacation pay out.

Essentially you can trade it with open weeks or another pilot, but you can't rebank it.

So long Comair folks, my last official day was Saturday. Take care
Nevermind, they gave me vacation the day my mil leave ends...however I am going right back on mil leave for another year so they are giving me those weeks back Thanks. How does the vacation pay out work?

First off, keep in mind that you "earned" your 2011 vacation weeks in 2010.

I've never done the "pay-out", but I think it works somthin' like this:

You tell them this year if you want your 2012 vacation paid to you (all or partial) halfway through 2011 at your 2011 pay rate. If you resign before the end of 2011 they will deduct any unearned vacation payout from your final paycheck.

The window may already be closed, but as a non-participant I can't tell you for sure off the top of my head.

Since you are GL maybe you can get an extension from HR?
