You might be waiting awhile.

You might talk to the leadership you elected to represent you.

I just find it amusing that Delta shut Comair down because the experienced crew members at Comair were "too expensive", yet just a couple years later they had to start paying Endeavor crews a higher amount.

I also take some pleasure in providing my experience to one of Delta's competitors.

I agree that's some pretty fine irony. Keeping CMR around would have saved them money in the long run. So I share in your hubris for that one. Its always funny to watch B-School geniuses outsmart themselves and step in the pile they just left for someone else.

As for the competitors POV, I assure you they don't care about you either. Every legacy has dumped on various regionals, and several have gone out of business. I assure you its not personal, and its absolutely not something limited to DL and its regionals. The LCC's are not without sin either.

Wherever you are now, best of luck to you.

Well since Comair was a "career" airline with benefits such as a pension that was tossed out in the bankruptcy; why yes. One could argue that Delta trashed many dedicated Comair folks careers all around the country.

It's not to cool to make fun of what you don't fully know or understand. Many people forget that Comair was a "full service" airline with over 7000 professionals including above wing and below wing customer services, catering, fuel services, mtc with mro services, a private jet mgmt company, fbo service company and an abinitio flight school in addition to pilots and flight attendants.

It was a very different place from your "typical" regional airline.

Delta lost something like $2 billion on the Comair divestiture. Not sure about ASA.

Thanks for the well-wishes. I've left the industry before, and I can leave it again tomorrow if I choose to. The Comair experience pushed me to achieve things outside the industry I never would have needed to had it been roses and chocolates. As a result, my participation in the industry, and my employer's future is, well...irrelevant.

How did ALPA have any influence over Delta's decision to shut down Comair?

It only took Delta 11 years to take action after the strike. Obviously the strike was the reason Comair was shut down.
