Not to bring back a sore topic, but what happens if we don't send in a $20 check? Lets say I "forget" and spend it on something more useful like $20 of gas to get to work, $20 of food while on an overnight, or $20 towards student loans. Is APLA going to take away my "privileges" whatever they may be?

Sorry but I do not see how a L2 can be assigned a ready reserve. The contract clearly states:

1. A ready reserve period will not be scheduled to exceed 6 hours and will be scheduled within the fourteen (14) hour reserve period. (pg 12-14)

On the same page read E. (4)

A LC2 reserve pilot will be available for assignment by the company IN the LC2 reserve windows of 0700 to 0900 hours and 1700 to 1900 hours........

The company states that the reserve period of LC2 is actually from 0700 to 1900. However this is only twelve hours not 14.

To further strengthen this argument on behalf of the pilot. Page 24-36 states "A reserve pilot will not be required to be telephone available on a day off or during a rest period, but will be required to be telephone available during his reserve period."

So here is the test. Am I per the contract required to be telephone available on a LC2 day at say 12:00? The answer is no, therefor I am not in a reserve window and since I am not in a reserve window, I can not be assigned Ready reserve at that time.

The company can do one of two things they can change your window the day before and assign you a ready reserve or they can assign you a ready reserve in your two hour window with a 12 hour call out.

Grieve it!!! I will!

FTR I know the schedulers don't have anything to do with it and my beef is not with them. You like we are pawns.

I know we've already talked about this. It seems like everyone is unsure, Union and Company, about this whole L2 ready reserve. I still think it is illegal to assign a ready reserve to an L2. There are a few guys that have no readies on L2, and a few they just go do it.
