From my experience, you have a far better chance of winning the lottery then getting scheduling to award you extra flying as a reserve pilot. Just another example of reservists being second class citizens in the Comair realm.

Well, it wouldn't be so bad if my first year pay averaged out to be more than 10$/hr for a 'normal' 40hr/week job..... I don't see the harm in letting me have it on my hard days off, it still costs them less money than a second year person taking the assignment in a normal window..... how sad is that?! </rant> (for now)....

I know Tim is not the word on these matters as he is a line pilot that helps with recruiting and those decisions are decided by others in management. Yeah they tried not to pay our class that but TP and AW said that we would get it during the interview... So when they tried to not pay us I went on an email frezy..

And we got it.

But they told us we were the last class but who really knows?

Not that I agree with it at all, but if a reserve pilot picks up open time on his or her days off, then it can run into availability problems with scheduling if they wanted to give you a powerfull trip just after you have picked up that open time. 30 in 7, because lord knows you won't reach 100 in 1!

I am not at risk in any way of going 30/7.

its in the contract that a reserve pilot cannot be awarded EF if it would disturb his reserve availabilty ie windows, domecile rest, trips already assigned.

OTTO its not scheduling that awards EF its a planning dept. There two seperate depts. Scheduling can award EF only day of i.e. being after 18:00 the day before, however it has to be approved by the management, the schedulers have had that power taken away from them in favor of DS lineholders and scrapping the bottom to get things done.

I would love to give EF especially on weather days but they are geared toward using the DS reassignment rules. However is legal but, it creates issues with morale.

Da$n if you do da$m if you dont

Hey 700/900 drivers, if you haven't flown it yet, watch yourself on 15164. That autopilot is going to kill someone some day

You may not be right now, but let's just say that you picked up a two day trip tomorrow worth 12 hours. Then say it backed up to 4 days that you are usable just after that two day trip. Now you are limited to what scheduling can put on your 4 usable days. They couldn't assign you a 20 hour 4 day or you would exceed 30 in 7.
