Whats a good way you guys keep track of your times? Until now i've just been keeping a monthly tally of total time. How do you guys do it and what do you log?

I keep one of those mini log books in my flight bag and record the out and in times each leg. Then I try and compare to mess-tro for accuracy during the overnight, usually finding a mistake or three. Every month or so I enter the times on my computer logbook.

I log each day/aircraft change using block times from the dsl. Hope I'm doing it right haha I've heard a few different things.

I use the DSL, keep a copy with you when you're on the flight, writing over planned times with blocked and logging names and ship numbers, landings, approaches, actual whatever.

Then when you checkout, re-print out the DSL again with the updated times. I have a lot more time on my hands than line holders though, so to each their own i guess.

One more thing, why do we only get a 420 credit for a 6 hour ready reserve?

Like when you go deadheading from JFK to CMH to pick up a plane, and then deadhead to CVG because there is already an FO in CMH to work the flight, to then deadhead to ATL and then some out station that is not served thru CVG... only to operate one quick leg back to ATL and time out for the day. So lets say you spent 6 hours deadheading and 1 hour flying. That's only 5.5 hours of pay since we only get 75% pay for deadheads. And they enjoy using them.

Who do we talk to if they won't change our out time? We pushed back from ATL on time then they put a huge reroute on us and we had to refuel....Two hours later we left, hoping to get the original out time. They didn't give it to us, but they still short changed us by quite a bit for our 2nd departure and they still won't change it. I think it's really stupid not to get paid if we go out and taxi for 4 hours and have to come back and only get paid for less than half an hour.

if you went back to the gate you are screwed, get 12 min taxi credit. Next time get the fuel truck to meet you like at pad 11 refuel, you are still on the clock.
