Pilot Vacancy / Displacement Bid Award Canceled! 06-Sep-2008

Due to management incompetence once again we at Comair Planning have been forced to cancel a displacement bid award. Yes we are sick of it too! A vacancy announcement will be posted Sept 8th. We expect to Receive the first of the CRJ 1000's in November and will have an opening for 50 CRJ 1000 captains and 75 FO's. Having finally made an agreement with United, we will operate the new CRJ 1000 at our new base which will also open in November. Our new base at McCarran International Airport is set to open concurrently with the new contract with United. On a happy note it is rumored that opening next door to the Comair crew facility will on one side be a Dunkin Donuts and on the other will be Qdoba and all Comair employees will receive 50% off at each.

I hate what this industry is doing to me, and how I have let it control my life. I read these forums for a glimpse of foresight and i realize everyone on here is just as clueless as i am.

I think this is it for me guys...... I'm tired of this.

 

Oh good god, I've been deprived of Dunkin' Donuts. Why'd you have to torture and remind me. YUM. I love their coffee.

 

What's with all the ERJs with engine covers parked at the DHL ramp in CVG? Are they CHQ or Freedom planes?

Also, looks like crap is starting to hit the fan up in JFK. Average delay of 4+ hrs. right now. Several flights already canceled. Glad I'm not working today. It's so nice here in Cincinnati and a good time at Oktoberfest in Covington

 

Yeah it's starting to get ugly here. Was supposed to DH up to BOS, those flights of course were all cxd so now I have the pleasure of sitting ready, like they think anyone is actually going to be blasting off into this mess.

 

I was suppose to DH to BOS too. But they never called me for the trip. So ive been sitting at home watching college football. Looks like they wont have to call a RR now.

 

I hear there are lots of jobs for pilots at Garmin, non flying of course. Friend of mine works there, loves it. Plus, ATC has been hiring... ive got my app in there as well.

 

I think those are some of Freedom's ERJ's that were sitting down in South Carolina.

 

Just got into LGA on time, but JFK is on 240+ minute delays. Of course we had to hold right in the middle of one of Hannah's rain bands, but they're getting into/out of LGA with no problems at all. No line for takeoff/landing.
