You make a good point about people complaining about getting no info from ALPA, then complaining when they do send something.
Let me make a comparison:
Go to McDonalds in Concourse C. For a while you'll wait and wait, not getting any service. Then, when they finally do call you up, you get something that vaguely resembles anything other than a hamburger.
So, which is better? No service? Or terrible service that doesn't do anyone any good?
I'm not taking the company's side or alpa's side. Our company gives us information. Its not always completely accurate, but it is usually within reason. Although it may not hold up in the long run. Our union is guilty of just the same thing, but sometimes they go a bit outside of reason (refer back to the security "spy" camera.
Next ALPA is going to not recommend going to casinos due to the high amount of "spy" cameras on the ceiling. Maybe "big brother" IRS is watching to see how much we win so they can audit us later. C'mon, get real.
Anyway, don't worry if anyone gets terminated for not checking out on Maestro. The union will get you your job back. They get people's jobs back for blatently violating company policy and safety standards. This is nothing.

Did it ever occur to you that those who are volunterring their time are extremely frustrated? Let me ask this a different way; what was the last decision any management team has made during YOUR tenure that increased our pay, planes, or longevity?
I haven't seen one. I have no idea why you're so mad about the "spy camera" but here's a thought.....maybe just maybe something happened that you don't know about yet and now the union thought it appropiate to warn us.

You know, it is possible to voice an opinion against ALPA and still not be pro-management.
That's what I don't get from these whole-hog alpa or pro management guys... can't see the middle road.

Ok, for those of you bashing ALPA now (and I admit I am one that does in the heat of battle)... I know they have their issues, but consider this: Hypothetically remove ALPA from the picture for a minute and think about what the company would do... Furlough out of seniority? Force pay cuts? Sit 5 ready rsv in a row with 10-15/mo? Max duty day? No pay guarantee? I'd hate to see how life would be without them. You dont know what you have until it's gone. Things could be better, yes.. but they are working on it. Call your reps with questions, that's what they are here for.

Bit off topic, anyone know why there was a CRJ9 surrounded by firetrucks between 36C and 36L yesterday afternoon around 3 p.m.? And why is 36R/18L closed? When will it open again, 'cause it is a pain in the arse with out it...
