Look at the big picture. So you suck up first year pay for another year. You are already typed so training is a no brainer.

I am ahead of you and not being furloughed, however I'll bet if you went to Mesaba you will beat me to the PIC seat by two years at least. And I really think you might beat me by more then that!

Go for it. Can't hurt. Where can you find the info for the preferential hiring? Thanks.

It's in our email box, it was announced on the 6th. We are supposed to fill out the online app then email a certain someone in the HR department. Has anyone that did this heard back yet?

It was in an email several days ago for Comair pilots, specifically for those being furloughed I believe.

Speaking of email, anyone see theirs yet about an apparent ASAP incident...long story short the union no longer wants us participating in ASAP and sticking to ASRS instead as a result of management actions. This place is falling apart by the day haha.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't do it if any of you can find something else to do until this smooths over, or until something happens. There is too much talk out there about merging Comair with Mesaba for anyone to jump right now. Let's say you have 6 months here at Comair and you now leave to get on at Mesaba. If Comair is merged with them, you would then be even further down the list in a date of hire merging of seniority lists. Think about it.... Mesaba(NW) and Comair(Delta) Why would they give Comair pilots priority on hiring. I see it as a way to keep some costs down for yet another year once they do merge the regionals. They get you on first year pay again. my 2 cents

Some of you Oct 5th guys might know the answer to this. Are we supposed to bid for NOV? (Nov 5 furlough). Do we get days off during the first 5?

well I bid for the first seven days of before the furlough was announced and was awarded those days off and then a week later they tried to say they were switching my days and I had to work. Illegal.

Just expect to work 3 of 4 days regardless of what you bid.

On a happier note did anyone else get the email saying out pass benefits would be extended throughout the furlough? That was nice of them.

Ok so no one wanted to go to Ecuador so I am boarding Delta 101 in ten minutes. Any is welcome to meet me!

Did everyone see the memo from ALPA about withdrawing from the ASAP program at Comair? Not good! While everything is slowly going away at Comair, this is a safety issue. The leadership at this company is definitely failing in my opinion. They are now pinching away at safety. We all need to be extra alert and aware of everything that we are doing. Not saying that we aren't always careful, but you may just find yourself on the street following a missed radio call with the current state of the FAA and Comair.

I nearly puked today when I saw nearly 40 airplanes parked in CVG today with pink stickers in the windows(not sure what the stickers mean.) Now giving priority hiring at Mesaba to our furloughs? This place is coming apart at the seems.
